Peter Velotas, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr Pete Velotas hails from Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University’s College of Science and Mathematics in 2011 and College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. After a stint as an emergency veterinarian in Cincinnati, Ohio, he began working at Dr. Norm’s in 2017.
Dr. Pete’s special medical interests include ophthalmology, dermatology, surgery, and preventative medicine. He is a proud “parasitology nerd” with a passion for prevention of infectious diseases and zoonoses – diseases that can pass between animals and humans. Dr. Pete enjoys spreading knowledge regarding veterinary medicine and working with pet owners to develop a team approach toward optimal animal health and a healthy human-animal bond.
In his free time, Dr. Pete likes spending time with his family: wife Stephanie, son James, and daughter Eleni. He also enjoys playing golf, paddleboarding, swimming, and watching classic movies. He is an avid Auburn fan and was a cheerleader for Auburn from 2009-2011. Dr. Pete has a Chihuahua named Jase, a Labrador Retriever named Sadie, and a Sphynx Cat named (thanks to James) Pete the Cat.
